KPK summons Boedi Sampoerna over Bank Century bailout case The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned one of Bank Century’s largest depositors, Boedi Sampoerna, on Wednesday. “We are interviewing Boedi Sampoerna with regard to the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS),” Johan said. Boedi arrived at the commission’s office at around 9 a.m. and was still being questioned at noon, KPK spokesman Johan Budi said at midday on Wednesday. The LPS disbursed a total of Rp 6.76 trillion (US$716 million), ten times the amount approved initially, on the pretext of salvaging the bank. The KPK was also seeking Jakarta High Court approval to re-summon former bank owner Robert Tantular, Johan said. The KPK had failed on Tuesday to secure approval to question Robert, currently serving a five-year prison term.
